SUMMARY:Douglas County Open Space Listening Session
DESCRIPTION:Identified as a priority in  Plan 2040 \, Douglas County has launched an 18-month planning process to establish the Douglas County Open Space Plan. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nThrough this planning process the county will gather community input that will help shape the Open Space Plan. Douglas County wants to hear your vision for how open spaces could be preserved and utilized in ways that benefit the greater community into the future. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe resulting Open Space Plan will be a broad policy guide toward prioritizing a range of ecosystems and land uses\, such as prairie\, floodplain\, agriculture\, historic sites\, trails\, and more. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe plan is a local effort intended to protect shared community values and county character\, identify voluntary land management options and partnerships\, and foster appreciation and access to nature for future generations. \n\n\n\nThe Open Space project team will host a listening session on: \n\n\n• Thursday\, June 8\, 5:30 p.m.-7 p.m. at Lawrence Public Library\, 707 Vermont St.\, Lawrence. \nMore Info
