FLAT Welcomes New Board Members
Freinds of Lawrence Area Trails is pleased to annonce that at the April 9th FLAT Board Meeting we welcomed new board members, Joshua Falleaf, Eric Nelson, Marcos Markoulatos, Jared Gab and Sybil Gibbs. (Sybil is not pictured).
Joshua Falleaf, is a Lenape (Delaware Tribe of Indians), and has lived in Lawrence for 15 years and is the Director of Economic Development at the Lawrence Chamber. Joshua and his family enjoy bike rides on the Lawrence Loop from early Spring to late Fall. He has served on many boards and commissions throughout the community and is excited to serve on the board for FLAT.
Eric Nelson has been a secondary science teacher for over twenty five years and he currently leads student outdoor programs and teaches Chemistry. He is an avid outdoor enthusiast and spends a lot of time cycling, hunting and hiking. He states that trails and dedicated open spaces are important components that improve the quality of life in a community.
Marcos Markoulatos enjoys Gravel, MTB and Road cycling around the midwest. He feels that today more than ever a robust trail network is a vital part of a city and community. He feels that helping build a diverse network of trails is what motivates him as a member of the board.
Jared Gab has been enjoying bike rides arounds the community. In fact, he has organized community bike rides around Lawrence for the past eight years. He has helped create over 200 bike routes around town. He is eager to promote the great ways to travel through the Lawrence area and advocate for more.
Sybil Gibbs is very involved in the local chapter of the national organization Black Girls Do Bike and is pleased to be one of our new board members.
