Forms are in place on the Depot to 8th St Construction

Construction Has Begun

Construction has begun on the newest segment of the Lawrence Loop. The construction runs from 8th to 7th Streets and ends at the Santa Fe Station. The work began this week and is expected to be completed by early summer.

Forms have been built in preparation for concrete. The forms run just inside of the existing fence along the railroad tracks and extend to just east of the Sante Fe Station. The new segment will connect with existing sidewalk just east of the Depot.

The new construction connects the Lawrence Loop Segment 1, which runs through the Arts District along Delaware Street through Hobbs Park.

It’s exciting to see the progress. The eventual trail head for the Lawrence Loop will be at the Santa Fe Station.
