The Lawrence Loop begins at 8th and Delaware across the street from the Poehler Lofts and near the railroad tracks. There is currently no signage noting the start of the trail, but at some point in 2023 or 2024 there are plans to extend the trail to the Santa Fe rail station.
Going south the trail passes through the Warehouse District and climbs a short hill into Hobbs Park. After going through the park the Loop turns east along 11th Street and descends a small hill. Not far to the east, there is a marked pedestrian crossing where the trail crosses 11th Street and continues south as the Burroughs Creek Trail.
If you haven’t experienced this relatively new section of improved trail, it is worth exploring. What used to be a sidewalk through the park is now a bona fide, 10’ wide shared use path with gentler curves (easier for cycling) and raised crosswalks where the trail crosses roadways along Delaware Street.
